Do More Than Manage
Gord Schmidt's Ideas for Doing More with Microsoft Project Server

Now less ugly

I've been doing my best for quite some time now to disavow any knowledge of any browsers other than the latest version of Internet Explorer. I think it stems from my pain as a developer trying to support multiple browsers back in the late 1990's.

Working with Project Server has helped maintain my delusion that only one browser exists. PWA with its ActiveX controls requires IE.

But now with this blog, I see it's becoming a bigger world again. The list of applications that access my blog is growing and growing. In general, that's a good thing. Competition brings out new ideas and developments.

I decided to test the waters and downloaded Firefox. I visited Do More Than Manage and was surprised at how ugly it looked. Here I thought I was doing a decent job of defining things with CSS.

With help (thanks Heather!) I have modified the templates and CSS for the site and now, although it doesn't render exactly the same in IE and Firefox, it is less ugly.

My little experiment with Firefox didn't last. I do appreciate its Document Inspector though and will continue to use it from time to time but for now it won't become my default.
